The Growth of self-managed super funds (SMSF) shows no sign of slowing, growing at a rate of 35% p.a.
As of September 2012, there were:
- 478,000 Self-Managed Super funds
- 913,550 Members
- Total Asset value of $439 billion, this represents nearly one third of the $1.4 Trillion in Australia’s Superannuation Assets.
On average Australians are contributing $500 million per week to their SMSF’s which equates to $26.5 Billion in contributions to SMSF every year.
The main attractions of SMSF’s are the ability for members to have control over the choice and management of their investments and the ability to diversify their investment portfolio. Also with the slightly relaxed regulations of SMSF it brings flexibility to borrowing within a SMSF.
We assist our clients with structuring the SMSF and all related complying documentation.
A SMSF could be set up with up to 4 members and existing superannuation contributions could be rolled over into the SMSF. You will have control over the funds to meet your investment strategies.
